Flights
We
were able to negotiate special air rates with Lufthansa. With Munich
being one of Lufthansa's most important hubs and one of Germany's
biggest airports, we believe, this to be a good deal.
Lufthansa offers a discount of up to 20% on their flight rates. Our travel agent (flights@im2007.org) has arranged everything to make booking for you as simple as possible. We therefore suggest to contact him, although you might also contact any Lufthansa sales or reservations office and quote the Code LH07MUC005. You might also contact Lufthansa by phone on 1-800-645 3380 from North America or 01803-803-803 in Germany. Lufthansa might ask you to provide a proof of participation at the conference to offer you those special rates.
Our travel agent is pleased to book flights for you. You might contact him at flights@im2007.org.
The IATA-Code for Munich Franz-Josef-Strauß Airport is MUC.

Hotels
We negotiated special rates with some hotels in Munich. As the
conference takes place at the university, we selected several hotels in
several price and quality ranges. The rates we negotiated are only
available by using our hotel reservation form.
All hotels listed here offer excellent public transport connections to both Munich Airport and our university.
All rates negotiated include a full breakfast buffet at the hotel.
Close to the city center, it is also a good base to do some sight-seeing, visit Munich's famous Beergardens or enjoy some cultural events.

Note on hotels in Germany
In Germany, hotels are classified using "stars". A five star (5*) hotel is considered a top of the notch high class hotel, 4* hotels are very comfortable (first class hotels). 3* hotels (tourist class) are probably the minimum one would want to book in big cities like Munich, although in rural areas they might offer an excellent service. If you should decide not to use our booking service, please be aware, that - unlike in most english speaking countries - hotel rooms prices vary according to the amount of guests booked for one room. So expect a double room to be more expensive then a single.
